Shortpass Filter - Designed to meet the requirements of sensor chips such as CCD or CMOS, these filters maximize visible light transmission while cutting off or reflecting infrared radiation. They can be customized to project or cut off specific wavelength bands while maintaining excellent flatness and high transmission in the short-wave region.
The technical complexity of shortwave pass filters exceeds that of longpass filters, particularly when used in ultraviolet light source applications. These filters allow maximum ultraviolet light transmission while effectively reflecting or cutting off visible light and near-infrared radiation.
Applications include: ultraviolet light sources, mobile phone cameras, laser protection systems, heat reflection lighting systems, and fluorescent ink laser imaging.
Dielectric coated shortpass filters share characteristics with longpass filters. The onset wavelength shifts toward shorter wavelengths as the angle of incidence increases. Typically, when the incident angle changes from 0° to 45°, the center wavelength shifts approximately 10% shorter. This feature enables precise wavelength or cutoff wavelength adjustments in specialized applications.
