An anti-reflection (AR) window is a specialized optical component designed to minimize the amount of light reflected from its surface, allowing more light to pass through without interference. This is achieved by applying a thin film coating or multiple layers of coatings onto the surface of the window. These coatings manipulate the way light interacts with the surface, reducing reflections by creating interference effects that cancel out the reflections from the surface.
